From Chaos to Balance: How I Transformed My Life

In my last post, I shared my journey with PCOS and how it affected my physical and mental health. Now, I’m excited to share the “how” behind my transformation – the habits, routines, and lifestyle changes that helped me regain control of my body and my life.

It all started with small changes. Yoga became my bestfriend. I started paying attention to my eating habits, making sure when to eat, what to eat and in fact how to eat! Making sure of each and everything. (sounds difficult, but trust me you can do it too)

BUT HERE IS THE THING: I also had bad days. Days where I was not able to keep it up with my daily targets. So I practiced moderation and balance. If I had a day where I indulged in my favourite eats (basically sugar), I’d make sure to balance it out with healthier choices over the next few days.

One of the game-changers for me was intermittent fasting. I started with a 16-hour fasting window, which helped regulate my blood sugar levels and improve my overall energy. I also made sure to get at least 10,000 steps per day, which helped me stay active.

In addition to these habits, I also prioritized my sleep schedule, aiming for 8 hours of restful sleep per night. I mean beauty sleep, duh? And, I started meditating, which helped me reduce stress and increase my mental clarity. (too much?)

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “This all sounds too difficult.” Well, let me tell you – I became obsessed with tracking my macros and making sure I was getting enough greens, protein, calcium, and omega-3s. Trust me my intention here is to NOT FLEX.

My approach was simple. I cut out foods that didn’t agree with me, like potatoes, rice, and sugary carbs. I made sure of 16 hour intermittent fasting and MOVING MY BODY, yoga walking, dancing LITERALLY ANYTHING!  And, I started experimenting with new recipes and ingredients, which led to some amazing discoveries (hello, salads!).

It’s been a journey,  and it’s not always been easy. But, I can honestly say that I’ve never felt more balanced and more confident in my own skin.

As I look back on my journey, I’m amazed at how these small changes in my diet, lifestyle habits, and mindset have transformed me into a better version of myself. I’ve learned to love myself and to appreciate my body for all its strengths and weaknesses. Of course, I still have days where I break down, struggle to keep up, and face setbacks like acne, hair fall, and weight fluctuations. But despite all this, I haven’t lost hope – and I won’t. I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to not be okay, and that every small step forward is a step in the right direction. So, to anyone who’s struggling, I urge you to hold on to hope,  just like I did. Don’t give up,  even when it feels like the smallest changes aren’t making a difference. Trust me, they are. And most importantly, learn to love yourself, just as you are.
