Well, as a college student living life to the fullest like everyone else, I never thought that my reckless behavior would soon catch up with me. But, little did I know, my late-night junk food binges, poor sleep patterns, and not taking care for my physical health would lead to a diagnosis that would change my life forever: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
As a teenager, I was an active and energetic girl, but when I went for college, my habits were totally changed. I was too busy having fun that I did not care about consequences. But, then the reality hit, and it hard. I gained weight all of a sudden, acne breakouts became a daily thing, along with hairfall and bad moods.
The physical changes were bad enough, but my mental health was even more crazy. Anxiety crept in, making everyday tasks feel like those big challenges. I was losing my calm and temper everyday, and I didn’t know how to stop it. Doctor’s appointments became a regular routine in my life, but the treatments and medications offered little relief.
I felt like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle of disappointment and frustration. I had no hopes left in me to fix my health because I was tired of waiting for the results was tired of wondering, if I’d ever find a way out of this mess. But, then something hit me. I realized that I couldn’t keep living like this – something had to change. I HAD TO CHANGE. MORE LIKE REVIVE.
It wasn’t easy, but I had to gather the courage to take control of my life. I started making small changes initially, first to my diet and then exercise routine, and slowly but surely, things began to fall into place. It took me months but one day I noticed all those changes in my body, reduced weight, sleeping schedule fixed, energy levels little increased and better mood. FINALLY.
But, more importantly, I started to feel like myself again. I started to feel confident, empowered, and in control. I learned to love myself, my flaws and I discovered the importance of self-care. TRIED TO PUT MYSELF FIRST.
In my next post, I’ll dive into the nitty-gritty details of how I changed my habits – from my favorite workouts to my go-to healthy recipes. But, for now, I just want to leave you with this: no matter how dark things may seem, there’s always hope for a brighter tomorrow!!
Remember, taking control of your health is not just about physical transformation; it’s about mental and emotional transformation as well. It’s about finding the courage to take the first step, to make the first change, and to keep moving forward, no matter what.
So, if you’re struggling with your health, if you’re feeling lost and alone, just know that you’re not alone. There’s hope, there’s help, and there’s a brighter tomorrow waiting for you.
And always remember, small changes today can lead to a healthier, happier you tomorrow. Start with one small step, and see where it takes you.
Girlies, let me tell you – PCOS may seem like a curse, but trust me, it’s a blessing in disguise! It teaches you resilience, strength, and perseverance. It pushes you to take control of your health, to prioritize self-care, and to love yourself, flaws and all. So, if you’re struggling with PCOS or any other health issue, just know that you’re strong enough to overcome it. You got this, girl!
